A new path opens…

Once upon a time, mothers told stories to young children as lessons in survival.
This is one of those stories.

It made me rethink why and how I am writing. To go deeper.

    • you believe that stories can heal and that you write for a reason

    • you want to reconnect with your writing and tap into the depths of your creativity

    • you are a teacher looking for new ways to work with story

    • you love fairy tales and enchantment

  • • embrace a deeper understanding of your purpose as a writer

    • recognize the mythic bones of your work that lend it deeper resonance

    • apply new craft tools to your writing

If you are seeking a way to empower your writing, this is the course for you.

Sherri was a wonderful virtual guide through the Story Forest. The material she guided us through forced a deep level of introspection, and we became very close as a group as we shared our responses....To say the program was deep and impactful sounds too trite; I’m still digesting the material and I’m not exaggerating when I say that it has changed the way I look at my own motivation to write and the material I am creating.

This program was different from any that I have taken before, and approached story structure, writing practice, and the layers each of us individually bring to our writing while also showing us how to vanquish the many wolves attempting to stop our progress.
— On the Little Red Writing Hood Path
  • Each Sunday we will meet online to explore the story of “Little Red Riding Hood” as a metaphor and a guide.  We begin with a storytelling session, asking questions raised by the narrative along the way.  You will keep a notebook, answer questions that delve into the heart of your writing practice.

In the following weeks, we will explore your answers together. I’ll also share practical craft tips at each stage.

On Thursdays we will have Tea Time, a bonus Zoom session for anyone who has questions or wants to dig deeper into the week’s work.

  • • 5 Live Webinar Sessions with discussion

    • 5 Live Tea Times for further Q &A

    • Deeply reflective questions about your writing and your writing practice

    • A downloadable workbook that can be used throughout the series

    • Online community discussion board

By the end of this five-week path, you will have a deeper understanding of your creative path and a richer relationship with your work.
